Murtaugh LLP’s Robert Lemen, Devin Murtaugh and Lauren Saint Named to 2027 Lawdragon 500 Leading Litigators in America

Murtaugh attorneys recognized for practices spanning trust and estate disputes, business litigation, design professional defense and complex civil matters.

IRVINE, CA, UNITED STATES, September 15, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ -- Southern California law firm Murtaugh LLP announced that Senior Partner Robert T. Lemen and Partners Devin E. Murtaugh and Lauren E. Saint have been selected to the 2027 Lawdragon 500 Leading Litigators in America. The annual guide recognizes accomplished litigators handling significant disputes across a broad range of practice areas.

“Robert, Devin and Lauren are exceptional advocates who bring judgment, preparation and a clear understanding of what is at stake for the client to every matter they handle,” said Michelle R. Generaux, Co-Managing Partner of Murtaugh LLP. “Their practices are different, but they share the qualities that define our litigation team: they understand the case, they understand the client, and they know how to build a strategy that can carry a matter through trial when necessary. Having three of our lawyers recognized together reflects the depth of litigation experience we have built at Murtaugh.”

Robert T. Lemen, a Senior Partner and longtime trial attorney, represents family members and trustees in trust and probate disputes and businesses and business owners in complex civil litigation. His practice includes will and trust contests, disputes involving the administration of trust property, partnership and corporate ownership disputes, breach of contract claims, trade secret matters, and employment litigation.

Lemen has handled significant matters through trial and arbitration. In one trust dispute, he represented a beneficiary whose inheritance had been depleted through transfers of trust assets to a trustee and members of the trustee’s family. Following a five-week trial, he secured a judgment that included compensatory damages, statutory penalties, attorney’s fees and costs. In a separate business dispute, Lemen represented a longtime insurance agent against a national insurance brokerage and, following a two-week binding arbitration, secured a unanimous award for compensatory and punitive damages that ultimately resulted in a multimillion-dollar settlement. Lemen is a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates.

Devin E. Murtaugh, a Partner and second-generation Murtaugh attorney, represents companies, business owners, fiduciaries and individuals in complex civil disputes. His practice includes breach of contract and breach of fiduciary duty claims, shareholder and partnership disputes, business torts, real estate and construction litigation, high-value trust and estate disputes, and professional liability matters, including the defense of architecture and engineering firms. He handles matters from pre-litigation assessment through trial and appellate review.

Murtaugh has tried numerous cases to verdict in Southern California courts. His trial record includes defeating a $20 million claim alleging that business partners wrongfully excluded another partner from a significant acquisition opportunity, and defeating claims seeking $2.8 million and a 50 percent ownership interest in a multifamily property. He also secured a defense verdict for a major structural engineering firm facing a $1.7 million professional negligence claim. On appeal, he has obtained reversals of trial court rulings, including a probate judgment involving ownership of family real estate. He regularly speaks on contract negotiation and risk management and participates in the ACEC California Attorney's Roundtable.

Lauren E. Saint, a Partner, focuses her practice on complex trust and estate litigation, representing trustees and beneficiaries in disputes involving fiduciary duties, capacity, undue influence, contested estate plans and the administration of significant family assets. She also has experience in business and real estate litigation and represents clients through discovery, trial and appeal.

Saint recently served as lead trial counsel in litigation involving real property transferred through a forged deed, securing a judgment that included double damages and attorney’s fees and resulted in a recovery exceeding $1 million. She also represented a beneficiary in highly contested litigation involving fiduciaries overseeing a family asset valued at more than $100 million, contributing to the successful prosecution of breach of fiduciary duty claims and findings of gross negligence. In another trust dispute, she served as trial counsel and secured a judgment preserving her client’s interest in real property valued at more than $700,000.

Together, the three attorneys represent the breadth of Murtaugh LLP’s litigation practice, which includes trust and probate litigation, business disputes, professional liability and design professional defense, employment matters and real estate litigation.
